Chomerics CHO-SEAL
Parker Chomerics CHO-SEAL products are some of the select materials we work with frequently here at KRA Fabrication. These conductive elastomer EMI gaskets are popular for their excellent sealing against moisture and pressure — and because they’re electrically stable. We’ve found CHO-SEAL products to be both reliable and cost-effective, making them a solid choice for a wide range of designs.
What is Chomerics CHO-SEAL?
Chomerics CHO-SEAL conductive elastomer gaskets combine the benefits of an EMI shield and an environmental or pressure seal.
CHO-SEAL was first developed in the 1960s as a game-changing new gasket for the EMI market; since then, additional varieties have been developed and introduced to suit a wide range of purposes.
Each of the different composites has been specially developed with certain properties, including corrosion and flame resistance. Some of the CHO-SEAL materials we work with most frequently are 1298, 1285, S6305, 6502, and 6503.
Why use Chomerics CHO-SEAL?
These conductive elastomers are durable, long-lasting, and cost-effective. Some of their most useful properties include:
- Compression set resistance
- Ability to work with low closure force
- Airflow control
- Low tooling costs
- Production efficiency
- Reliability for as long as the equipment is used
Where can CHO-SEAL be used?
CHO-SEAL products were originally used in the defense and aerospace industries to protect critical electronic systems. Today, they’re used in a wide range of industries, including:
